TAMS has been handling electronics recycling for Utah businesses since 2003. We’re local, we’re certified, and we’ve built a track record that includes over two decades without a single data breach.
From a handful of laptops to a full data center teardown, we manage the whole process and hand you the documentation when it’s done.
TAMS is an IT asset disposition company built on a simple idea: businesses deserve a recycling partner they can actually trust. Over 20 years, we’ve handled end-of-life IT for enterprises, government agencies, healthcare organizations, and fast-growing tech companies, with zero data breaches.
We’re headquartered in Utah, which means when you work with TAMS, you’re working with a local team that knows your market, can move quickly, and shows up with the full weight of a nationally certified operation behind it.
TAMS combines rigorous data security with real transparency and a team that actually picks up the phone. Here’s what makes us the best:
Our electronics recycling services cover the full scope of business IT, from laptops to servers. Every device is processed under R2v3-certified standards, with reuse prioritized before recycling. What can be remarketed, will be. What can’t, gets handled responsibly through certified downstream partners.
Whether you’re clearing out a single office or retiring an entire fleet, our e-waste recycling process covers pickup, processing, and reporting from start to finish.
Retired hardware has more value than most businesses realize. Through our revenue recovery program, usable assets are graded, processed, and sold through our vetted buyer network, routinely returning 10 to 25% more than clients recover on their own. Every dollar is tracked and reconciled monthly in your reporting dashboard, with full line-item transparency.
Dropping a device in a recycling bin doesn’t erase what’s on it. Our secure data destruction services include certified logical overwriting per NIST 800-88 guidelines and physical hard drive shredding, both on-site and at our facility. Witness options are available for clients who need eyes on the process. Every job closes with a Certificate of Destruction and a complete chain-of-custody record.
Not all retired IT is junk. Our asset value recovery services identify which equipment still holds market value, run it through our quality control process, and move it through resale channels that pay competitively. The result is a clear accounting of what your assets were worth and what you got back.
Shutting down a data center is a different kind of project. The logistics alone can spiral without the right team in place. Our data center decommissioning services cover everything: pre-project asset auditing, infrastructure teardown, on-site data destruction, logistics coordination, and final reporting. Utah’s Silicon Slopes is home to a growing number of enterprise data facilities, and our team has the hands-on experience to handle decommissioning at any scale.
We proudly highlight our unwavering commitment to excellence and adherence to the highest industry standards. Our certifications, including SERI R2v3, i-SIGMA NAID AAA, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, reflect our dedication to quality management, environmental responsibility, occupational health and safety, and secure data destruction. Our data erasure processes align with NIST SP 800-88 Clear and Purge guidelines, ensuring the secure and thorough erasure of data. Our data destruction services are audited annually against PCI DSS by qualified PCI QSA/ISA auditors. These certifications and compliance measures not only demonstrate our commitment to operational excellence but also assure our clients that we meet and exceed the industry’s most rigorous benchmarks for responsible, secure and sustainable IT asset disposition.
TAMS offers a full range of e-waste recycling services for Utah businesses, including computer recycling, server and networking equipment disposal, mobile device recycling, and large-scale IT asset disposition. All services include certified data destruction, chain-of-custody documentation, and optional revenue recovery. As a Utah-based company, we can serve local businesses quickly with the same certified processes we bring to national clients.
Secure data destruction means permanently eliminating data from storage devices so it cannot be recovered. TAMS uses two primary methods: logical overwriting, which replaces existing data with meaningless code while preserving the hardware for potential reuse, and physical shredding, which grinds drives into fragments. Both methods comply with NIST 800-88 guidelines and are certified under NAID AAA standards. Every job is documented with a Certificate of Destruction.
Utah does not currently have a statewide e-waste landfill ban or mandatory manufacturer take-back program. However, businesses handling regulated materials, including certain batteries, CRTs, and devices containing hazardous components, are subject to EPA guidelines and may have specific obligations depending on their industry. Organizations in healthcare, finance, and government also face federal data disposal requirements under HIPAA, FACTA, and similar regulations. Working with a certified ITAD provider like TAMS covers both the environmental and data security side, with the paperwork to back it up.
Yes. TAMS regularly manages enterprise-scale decommissioning projects, from single-room shutdowns to full data center clearances. Our Utah team can mobilize quickly for local projects, and our national infrastructure supports large, complex engagements that require coordinated logistics, on-site data destruction, and multi-site asset tracking. We provide a full project scope and timeline upfront so there are no surprises once work begins.
